Different organisations from different participating countries will work together, pool\nknowledge and experience in order to establish an evaluation method and tools for final stakeholders, which\nwill evaluate the accessibility of Higher Education for people with fewer opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Specific objectives are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Promoting the interconnection and networking of cross-border learning communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Improving the\nattractiveness and accessibility of available opportunities for study in\nUniversities in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00c2\u00b7<\/strong><strong> Foster social inclusion\nthrough entry in Universities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 <strong>Promoting\nintercultural competence, European integration and active European citizenship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Record the existing\nsituation in each country in relation with the Bologna declaration and EQF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Propose a common\nevaluation way of accreditation of prior experiential learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Enable stakeholders to\nidentify and gain a deeper understanding of building a personal portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00c2\u00b7 Identify structural barriers and common weaknesses in the recognition process<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The project overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">What are the conditions and barriers for entering Higher Education<br>as a migrant, refugee or a person with fewer opportunities?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">What are the responsive measures and methodologies for accrediting prior learning<br>so to facilitate prospective students to access tertiary education?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apele.eu\/\">Accreditation of prior experiential learning in European Universities<\/a> (APELE) addresses both questions by examining the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apele.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ComparativeReport.pdf\">legal framework and real accreditation procedures<\/a> in four European countries (Denmark, Iceland, Italy and Greece). APELE major findings were based on detailed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apele.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/ComparativeReportIO3_UNAK.pdf\">needs analysis<\/a> of target groups (including migrants) and recorded <a href=\"http:\/\/www.apele.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/APELE_IO2SynthesisReport-1.pdf\">perceptions, attitudes and good practices of academics and policy makers<\/a><em>, regarding the current status as well as future possibilities and methods for the recognition, accreditation and certification of prior experiential learning.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consortium (including the University of Patras, Laboratory of Pedagogical Research and Lifelong Education) through this Erasmus+ funded initiative has proposed that autonomously created <strong>personal<\/strong> <strong>portfolios<\/strong> constitute a more effective methodology for accrediting previous skills acquired throughout lifelong and life wide learning processes.
