The University of Patras Diversity Census aims to establish a unified strategic identity for all initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI) and active participation across the University community.
UPatras Together Forward is envisioned as the overarching institutional framework under which future initiatives, research tools, policies and collaborative actions will gradually be developed, contributing to the creation of a more inclusive, people-centred and innovative University.
The name UPatras Together Forward reflects the University of Patras’ long-term vision of a community that listens, learns and co-creates its future through the active participation of all its members. The word Together is intentionally retained as the initiative’s international brand identity, following the example of globally recognised university initiatives such as Erasmus+, Healthy Campus and Oxford Together. This gives the initiative a timeless identity and strengthens its international visibility.
The initiative aspires to become the institutional expression of the University’s strategy for inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement. Under the UPatras Together Forward umbrella, a wide range of initiatives will progressively be integrated, including the Diversity Census, the AI Readiness Index (AIRI), focus groups, professional development programmes, Atlas Certification, the Intercultural Hub, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies, as well as initiatives addressing the needs of administrative staff, faculty members, researchers and students.
The first phase of the initiative begins with the implementation of the Administrative Staff Diversity Census, providing the foundation for evidence-informed policies based on reliable institutional data. The central message of the campaign is simple:

The Diversity Census is therefore not presented as a stand-alone research activity, but as the starting point of a new institutional culture based on participation, dialogue and continuous improvement. Its purpose is to strengthen the quality of the University’s working and learning environment while contributing to the development of an academic community where every experience matters and every voice has a place and value.
UPatras Together Forward is not simply another communication campaign.
It represents the University’s vision for a new institutional culture of participation, inclusion and collaborative leadership, where knowledge, policies and innovation are co-created through the voices and experiences of the entire University community.
